The weather, gas, and cookies.
Just wanted to stop by and check in. The temperatures here has plummeted. Yesterday it was 80 degrees, and today it’s 37. And, as luck would have it, I needed gas since I planned to visit my mother who lives about 55 miles away. I was tempted to stay in the car while it was being refueled, but I’m always afraid something will happen. I see people talking on the phone, sliding in and out of their car with no regard for static electricity that could cause a fire. If I did that – boom!!
My adopted hometown where my mother lives is famous for their fruitcakes and cookies. I sampled a couple of cookies before purchasing a dozen. We needed food for tonight (I always take my mother out to lunch and we usually visit the bakery afterwards) so we picked up sandwiches for tonight’s meal. I’m out of bread so I tossed into the basket a loaf of pecan bread, and a loaf of whole wheat bread. There goes the semi diet.
I’m trying not to eat past 7pm. I blew it last night, but I plan to remain firm tonight. I have my water ready, but I can tell it’s going to be rough…there are cookies in the kitchen.
Have a great week.
Francis
