I think it was True Romance a magazine. Harlequin romances were next when I was about 13. I would sneek them in from the book mobile( a mobile library that would come to my neighborhood). I was sitting in 8th grade music class and got snagged by my teacher reading a story by Charlotte Lamb and my teacher took it from me and read the back cover and told me I could have it back after she was done reading it.lol The sad thing about it was that I didn't realize that there were any black romance authors until I saw Ms. Jackson's Durango Affair sitting on the shelf at a local suppermarket in 2006. My first romance I read by Ms. Ray was Heart of A Falcon. I've been addicted every since. I can't wait to read One Night With You! Vera D. My mother started me reading romance.
